Hostinger at a glance

Hostinger started in 2004 in Kaunas, Lithuania, and has grown into one of the largest budget hosting brands in the world, reporting more than 5 million users. It sells shared web hosting, managed WordPress and WooCommerce hosting, managed cloud hosting and self-managed KVM VPS plans, all run from its own hPanel control panel instead of cPanel. For US buyers, the appeal is simple: very low entry prices, a modern dashboard and US data centers in Phoenix and Boston.

Who Hostinger is for

  • First-time site owners, bloggers and small businesses that want WordPress with email and a free domain.
  • Freelancers and small agencies hosting several low to medium traffic sites on one plan.
  • Developers who want an inexpensive KVM VPS with root access for apps, n8n workflows, bots or game servers.

It is less suited to buyers who want cPanel specifically, monthly billing at promo prices, or hands-on phone support.

Pricing and renewals

Hostinger advertises its lowest prices on long prepaid terms, so read the renewal line carefully. Web hosting plans are quoted on a 48-month term: Premium costs $2.99/mo and renews at $10.99/mo, Unlimited is $3.79/mo and renews at $16.99/mo, and Cloud Startup is $7.99/mo and renews at $25.99/mo. You pay the full term upfront, so Premium works out to $143.52 at checkout. Renewal rates are roughly three to four times the intro price, which is typical for the budget segment but still worth planning for.

VPS plans are quoted on a 24-month term. KVM 1 (1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 4 TB transfer) is $6.49/mo and renews at $11.99/mo. KVM 2 doubles the resources for $8.79/mo (renews at $14.99/mo), KVM 4 is $12.99/mo (renews at $28.99/mo) and KVM 8 with 8 vCPU and 32 GB RAM is $25.99/mo (renews at $49.99/mo). Even at renewal, the RAM per dollar is competitive with most US VPS brands.

Features

Web and cloud hosting

Premium includes 3 websites and 20 GB of SSD storage with weekly backups. Unlimited moves to unlimited websites, 50 GB of NVMe storage and daily backups. Cloud Startup adds dedicated resources (4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe, 100 PHP workers), a dedicated IP and on-demand backups, which makes it the realistic option for WooCommerce stores and busier sites. Plans include a free domain for the first year, free SSL, a CDN, mailboxes and an AI website builder.

VPS

The VPS line runs on AMD EPYC processors with NVMe storage and a 1 Gbps port. Every plan includes free weekly backups, a managed firewall, Wanguard-based DDoS filtering, a public API and a browser terminal. One-click templates cover common Linux distributions, control panels such as CyberPanel, Docker, n8n and game server panels. Windows Server is not part of the standard VPS templates, so Windows workloads need another host. The VPS is self-managed, although Hostinger’s AI assistant can help with routine commands.

Data centers

VPS servers can be deployed in the USA (Phoenix and Boston), the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Lithuania, Brazil, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. Web and cloud plans add the Netherlands, Singapore and a third US site in Asheville. The VPS location is fixed after setup, while web and cloud accounts can be moved between data centers from hPanel. Hostinger says its data centers run on or are matched with 100% renewable energy.

Performance and reliability

Hostinger publishes a 99.9% uptime guarantee for its hosting plans. The shared entry plan is fine for a personal site or a small business brochure site, but growing WooCommerce stores should budget for Cloud Startup or a VPS, since shared resources are the first bottleneck. On the VPS side, EPYC CPUs and NVMe disks are a solid base, and the generous RAM allowances help with databases and containers.

Support and money-back guarantee

Support is available 24/7 through live chat, with an AI assistant answering first and human agents taking over when needed, plus email and a large knowledge base. There is no phone support. All plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and payment options include credit and debit cards, PayPal and cryptocurrency.

Verdict

Hostinger is one of the best value choices for US buyers who want cheap, well-equipped WordPress hosting or an affordable KVM VPS with plenty of RAM. The trade-offs are long prepaid terms to get the advertised price, noticeably higher renewals and no phone support. Lock in a long term if you are confident in the plan, and step up to Cloud Startup or a VPS once traffic grows.
