WebHostingBreak helps people choose VPS, web hosting and dedicated servers. Because our readers spend real money based on what we publish, we follow the rules below for every provider page, comparison and guide.
Who writes our content
Content is produced and maintained by the WebHostingBreak Editorial Team (see our team page). WebHostingBreak is an independent publication and is not owned by any hosting company. Every provider review shows who is responsible for it, when its data was last checked and which official sources were used.
What our reviews are, and what they are not
Our reviews are research-based. They compare what providers publish: plans, specs, introductory and renewal prices, data center locations, uptime SLAs, support channels, refund terms and payment options. We have not purchased or benchmarked the plans we list, and we do not describe speed, uptime or support quality as if we had tested them. If we run hands-on tests in the future, the review will say so and describe the method.
Where our data comes from
- Official sources first. Plan specifications, prices, renewal prices, data center locations, refund terms and SLAs are taken from providers’ official pricing pages, product pages, terms of service and SLA documents, or from a provider’s public API. When an official page cannot be loaded directly, we use a dated archived copy of that official page. We do not publish plan prices we could only find on third-party sites.
- Dated. Every provider page lists the official pages we used and shows a “data checked” date: the oldest source date behind the prices shown, so the page never looks fresher than its data.
- Intro and renewal prices. Hosting is often sold with a discounted first term. Where a plan renews at a higher price, we show both, so the cheapest-looking deal does not surprise you later.
- No invented numbers. We do not publish benchmark, uptime or speed results unless we have measured them ourselves with a documented method, and we say so clearly when we do.
How we rate providers
Ratings are editorial scores on a 0–10 scale. They are not averages of user reviews. They reflect value for money (including renewal pricing), hardware and specs, data center coverage, uptime commitments (SLA), support options, and billing flexibility such as money-back guarantees, hourly billing and payment methods. The full methodology is described on our About page. Ratings are editorial judgements, and they are revised when a provider’s offer changes.
Editorial independence
- Providers cannot pay for a higher rating, a better position in a list or a more favorable review.
- Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page with affiliate links. Whether a provider has an affiliate program does not affect whether it is listed or how it is rated. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Providers may point out factual errors, and we will correct verified mistakes, but they do not review or approve our content before publication.
Keeping content up to date
Hosting offers change often. We re-check provider data regularly and whenever a provider announces pricing or product changes. Plans that are no longer sold are removed. If a provider is acquired, rebranded or shut down, we update its page to say so and point readers to current alternatives.
Corrections
If you spot outdated pricing or an error, email [email protected] with the page URL and the correct information. We verify reports against official sources and update the page, including the “data checked” date. Significant corrections, such as a changed rating or a removed plan, are made on the page itself rather than silently elsewhere.
Use of automation
We use software, including AI writing tools, to collect and structure plan data and to help draft and check text. Pages are reviewed before publication, and prices, specs and terms are checked against the official sources listed on the page. We do not use automation to invent reviews, test results, user ratings or quotes.
