How the calculator matches plans

You set the minimum requirements (number of cores, amount of RAM in GB and disk size in GB) and the calculator queries the live plan database of the providers listed on our site, keeping only configurations where all three values meet or exceed your minimums. For each provider it shows the cheapest matching plan, and the list is sorted from lowest to highest price. The calculation uses regular, non-promotional monthly prices so the comparison reflects the real long-term cost rather than a first-term discount that jumps at renewal.

Which matters more: CPU or RAM?

There is no single answer: the bottleneck depends on the kind of load. Databases and cache-heavy applications need memory first; when RAM runs out, the system starts swapping and slows down sharply. Compute-heavy work, request processing and rendering depend more on cores. Always leave headroom on disk: the operating system, updates, logs and backups take up far more space over time than it seems on day one, so do not size storage to the exact minimum.
