TMDHosting at a glance
TMDHosting sells fully managed Linux and Windows shared hosting, managed cPanel VPS on its own TMD Cloud platform, and managed dedicated servers. The footer dates the company to 2007, which matches the registration date of its domain, and the phone number and support desk are US-facing. The pitch is managed service rather than cheap resources: cPanel with the WordPress toolkit, LiteSpeed on shared servers, CloudLinux, SpamExperts mail filtering, staff-run migration and a published 15-minute support response target.
How the pricing really works
TMDHosting does not run the usual intro-then-renewal ladder. Its plans have one list price, the month-to-month rate, and longer commitments buy a fixed percentage off it: 10% for a year, 15% for two years, 20% for three. Shared Starter is $11.90/mo month to month and $9.52/mo on three years; Business is $15.90 and $12.72; Enterprise $23.90 and $19.12. Dedicated servers work the same way, from $199.99/mo down to $159.99/mo on a three-year commitment.
That is worth stating plainly, because it cuts both ways. Nothing on the shared or dedicated pages announces a renewal price, and the struck-through figure beside the discounted one is the monthly rate, not a future renewal. So the advertised discount is a term discount, and there is no evidence on the site of a first-term-only teaser. The flip side is that the entry price is high for a US budget host: $9.52/mo for a single-site plan is several times what the cheapest shared hosts charge up front.
The VPS line is priced separately and only in two cycles. The smallest managed cPanel VPS, 2 cores and 4 GB of RAM, is $69/mo month to month or $57.50/mo annually, and the ladder climbs to $2,199/mo for a 256 GB machine. These are managed servers with a cPanel licence, an AMD EPYC allocation and NVMe storage, so they compete with managed hosting rather than with unmanaged $5 VPS deals.
Refunds and guarantees
Shared and dedicated plan cards carry a 30-day money-back guarantee badge. The VPS pages do not show that badge on the plan cards, although the VPS page’s own meta description states a 30-day money-back guarantee, so the window appears to apply there too but is not spelled out in the visible copy. Uptime is advertised as a 99.9% guarantee on shared and dedicated plans and 99.99% on the VPS line; both figures are the provider’s own claims and no compensation formula is published beside them.
What “unlimited” and “free migration” mean here
Several resources are marketed as unlimited: unlimited websites on Business and Enterprise, unlimited SSD space on Enterprise, unlimited email accounts and databases, and unlimited bandwidth on dedicated servers. Those are the provider’s words. The VPS plans, by contrast, carry explicit monthly bandwidth caps of 1 to 5 TB, which shows where the real accounting happens.
Migration is described as a manual, specialist-run transfer with zero downtime, including databases, plus what the site calls “unused months compensation” from a previous host. The page does not state a limit on the number of sites transferred or a time window, so confirm the scope with sales before assuming a large multi-site move is covered.
Data centers
- Nine locations on five continents: Chicago, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Johannesburg, Mumbai and Santiago.
- Chicago is the only North American site, so US East and US West customers both route to the Midwest.
- Each location publishes a speed-test IP address, which makes latency easy to check before buying.
- Facilities are described as SSAE-16 certified with biometric and key-card access and audit reports available on request.
The affiliate situation
This is the single most important thing for anyone planning to monetise a TMDHosting review: the affiliate program is closed. The affiliates page carries a notice that the service was discontinued starting January 1, 2026, that outstanding payments will still be honoured, and that partners should move to the sister brand Hosting.com instead. There is no commission to earn on new TMDHosting sales.
Who it suits
TMDHosting fits a site owner who wants someone else to run the server, values a 15-minute support target and cPanel with managed updates, and is willing to pay managed-hosting rates for it. It is not a budget pick: the entry plan costs more per month than most rivals’ renewal prices, and the single North American data center limits latency tuning inside the United States. For a publisher, the closed affiliate program also removes the usual reason to feature it.
