Nodecraft at a glance

Nodecraft, Inc. launched its first product in 2012 and is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It sells only player-created game servers – no VPS, web hosting or dedicated servers – and splits the line in two: Nodecraft Lite, whose server hibernates when nobody is playing, and Nodecraft Pro, the always-on product. Both run on the company’s own control panel, and the game library currently lists 78 titles.

Games, swapping and mods

The catalogue covers Minecraft Java Edition, Palworld, Valheim, FiveM, Rust, ARK: Survival Evolved, 7 Days to Die, Terraria, Satisfactory, Core Keeper, Enshrouded, DayZ, Conan Exiles, Garry’s Mod, Factorio, Arma 3, Counter-Strike 2, ECO and dozens more. The feature that sets Nodecraft apart is Save and Swap: one subscription can hold several saved game servers in “instances” and switch between them at no extra cost – two instance slots on Lite, between two and nine on Pro depending on plan size.A group can run Minecraft this month and Valheim the next without paying for a second server.

For Minecraft specifically, Nodecraft advertises one-click mod and plugin installation, full Java JVM flag access and separate custom control panels for Spigot and Pixelmon servers.

Control panel and automation

The panel is Nodecraft’s own, not Multicraft or Pterodactyl. Published features include a live-streamed console, a dual-pane in-browser file manager, built-in player management instead of console commands, sub-user permissions for moderators, MySQL databases, a free DNS hostname so friends do not have to track an IP, and Automated Tasks that run timers or in-game event triggers without plugins or mods. Automated Tasks and manual cloud backups are Pro-only; Lite servers still back themselves up automatically when they hibernate.

RAM tiers, player counts and the two billing models

Nodecraft bills per RAM tier, in 1 GB steps from 2 GB to 32 GB, and explicitly does not sell player slots. Its own FAQ answers the question directly: the service does not limit player slots, so a server takes as many players as the game and the plan’s RAM allow. The only sizing guidance published is attached to the Minecraft plan cards – 2 GB is labelled “best for vanilla”, 4 GB “best for vanilla and Paper”, and 8 GB is marked as the “best modded plan”. That ladder is worth following: vanilla worlds fit the entry tier, plugin-driven Paper servers want the middle, and heavy modpacks belong on 8 GB or above no matter how few people are online.

Each tier bundles storage and backup space with the RAM: 5 GB of SSD storage and 10 GB of cloud backup space per gigabyte of RAM, so a 4 GB plan carries 20 GB of storage and 40 GB of backups. Lite is the cheaper of the two lines because the server sleeps when empty and wakes through a share link: 2 GB costs $5.96/mo, 4 GB $11.92/mo, 8 GB $23.84/mo and 16 GB $47.68/mo. Pro keeps the server online 24/7 and adds a static IP address, manual backups and automation: 2 GB is $9.98/mo, 4 GB $19.98/mo, 8 GB $39.98/mo and 16 GB $79.98/mo. Quarterly billing takes 10% off and yearly 20% off, and the site was running a 30% discount on the first month at the time of writing. Payment is by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Hardware, DDoS protection and locations

Nodecraft states that its servers run AMD Ryzen 9 or AMD EPYC CPUs with ECC memory and SSD storage, and that it does not oversell hardware. It describes its network as built on established infrastructure partners with redundant power and UPS systems, and advertises a “DDoS shield” on every plan alongside a 99.9% uptime claim; no mitigation capacity figure is published. Coverage is wide: twelve North American sites (Seattle, San Jose, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Washington D.C., Boston, Toronto and Queretaro), Sao Paulo, eight European sites from Madrid and London to Prague and Bucharest, and six in Asia-Pacific including Tel Aviv, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Auckland.

Support, trials, backups and refunds

Support is the one place where Nodecraft trades away a feature most rivals advertise: it is not 24/7. The published hours are 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST daily, through live chat, email and a toll-free US phone number – an actual phone line is rare in this market, but overnight problems wait until morning. Backups are cloud-based and included with every plan, sized as above, with instant restore or download from the panel. Two trials are published: 24 hours with no credit card, or 7 days once payment details are added, one per person and subject to phone verification. The refund policy is a seven-day money-back guarantee, valid for one service per customer for the lifetime of the account, with refunds issued as account credit or back to the original card or PayPal account.

Who it suits

Nodecraft suits groups that play several games and want one subscription to cover them, buyers who value a genuinely polished panel with automation and player management, and anyone who would rather phone support than open a ticket. Lite is a smart fit for a friends-only world that is idle most of the week. It is a weaker fit for always-on public communities that need overnight support, for bargain hunters comparing headline prices – Pro is priced above most RAM-tier rivals – and for anyone who needs a published bandwidth figure or a quantified DDoS guarantee.
