HostArmada at a glance
HostArmada is a cPanel-based cloud host that sells shared hosting, WordPress and WooCommerce hosting, reseller accounts, KVM cloud VPS and what it calls Dedicated CPU servers. Everything runs on the same virtualized Cloud SSD platform rather than on bare metal, with NVMe storage, CloudLinux, Imunify360 and free Cloudflare integration. The company trades as HostArmada INC, publishes a US phone number and lists a small named management team on its company page, but does not publish a street address or a founding year.
Prices: a real intro, a real renewal
HostArmada is unusually clear about renewals for a host in this price bracket, because the pricing widget carries both numbers. On shared hosting the entry plan, Start Dock, was advertised at $1.99/mo on a three-year term and renews at $9.95/mo. Web Warp is $3.29 renewing at $16.45, and Speed Reaper $3.95 renewing at $19.75. Shorter terms discount less: the one-year cycle on Start Dock is $2.39 renewing at $11.95, and buying month to month means paying the full $12.95 from day one with no discount at all.
The VPS and Dedicated CPU lines work differently. There the discount is 50% off the initial sign-up term only, and the renewal is exactly double: Web Shuttle at $29.95/mo renews at $59.90, Web Raider at $46.73 renews at $93.45, and the entry Dedicated CPU plan, LIFT OFF!, goes from $81.95 to $163.90. Those are monthly cycles, so the renewal arrives after one month, not after three years. Anyone budgeting off the advertised figure on the server lines will be surprised on the second invoice.
Refunds, and the catch
The headline is a 45-day money-back guarantee, which is longer than the usual US 30 days. Two limits apply, and both are printed on the site. First, the pricing widget states that on a monthly billing cycle the 45-day policy does not apply. Second, the VPS and Dedicated CPU pages advertise 7 days, not 45. In practice the long window belongs to prepaid shared hosting; server customers get a week.
Data centers and what “free migration” covers
The data center page lists nine locations: San Francisco, Dallas, Newark, Montreal, London, Frankfurt, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney. A banner on the same page advertises “23 Datacenters in 5 Continents”, which does not match the nine locations listed below it, so treat the larger number as marketing. The same page claims “100% Network Uptime” while the company page promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee; the 99.9% figure is the one written as a guarantee.
Free migration is real but bounded. The plan comparison table gives one free website transfer on Start Dock, three on Web Warp and five on Speed Reaper, performed by staff after you supply the old host’s credentials. It is a one-time service per package, not an unlimited transfer allowance, and the company page describes it as “a FREE one time transfer service for your website”.
Resources and limits
- Shared plans ship 15 to 40 GB of NVMe space, 2 to 6 CPU cores and 2 to 6 GB RAM, with CloudLinux quotas printed openly (entry processes, I/O limits, files count).
- Bandwidth is not sold by the terabyte on shared hosting. HostArmada calls it “Acceptable Usage” and publishes the numbers it considers acceptable per plan, which is more honest than an unqualified “unlimited” label but is still a soft cap.
- Daily backups are kept for 7, 14 or 21 days depending on plan; VPS and Dedicated CPU plans include backups and a dedicated IP.
- Support runs 24/7/365 over chat, tickets and phone, with published targets of 10 minutes for tickets and an hour for email.
Affiliate terms
The affiliate program is run in-house and pays flat bounties rather than a revenue share: $30 to $100 per sale on monthly and prepaid website hosting at the lowest tier, rising with monthly sales volume to as much as $200 on reseller and cloud plans and $250 on unmanaged VPS for partners doing more than twenty sales a month. The cookie lasts 90 days, commissions are held for 45 days to match the refund window, the minimum payout is $100 and payments go out by PayPal.
Who it suits
HostArmada is a sensible pick for a small business or agency site that will sit on a three-year shared plan, wants cPanel, and values a long refund window and staff-run migration. It is a poor fit for anyone shopping on the VPS headline price, because that number halves in value at the first renewal, and for Windows workloads, which are not offered at all.

HostArmada pros and cons
👍 Pros
- Intro and renewal prices are both printed on the pricing widget, per billing cycle
- 45-day money-back guarantee on prepaid shared hosting, longer than the usual 30 days
- cPanel, NVMe storage, CloudLinux and Imunify360 on every plan, including the cheapest
- Nine data centers on four continents, including San Francisco, Dallas and Newark
- Staff-run free website migration, 24/7 chat, tickets and phone with published response targets
👎 Cons
- VPS and Dedicated CPU plans renew at exactly double the advertised monthly price after one month
- The 45-day refund window does not apply to monthly billing, and VPS and Dedicated CPU plans get only 7 days
- Marketing numbers do not line up: a 23-data-center banner over a 9-location list, and a 100% network uptime claim beside a 99.9% guarantee
