BisectHosting at a glance

BisectHosting, operated by Venture Node LLC, is one of the larger names in Minecraft and game server hosting; its hardware page says the company has been around for 14 years and its about page claims more than two million servers hosted. The product line has been simplified into a single game offer called BisectOne, sold by RAM tier and covering every supported game. Alongside game servers the company also sells VPS plans, dedicated servers, web hosting, Mumble voice servers and Discord bot hosting, so there is somewhere to move if a project outgrows a game server.

One plan, 110+ games, and game swapping

BisectOne covers 110+ titles on one subscription: Minecraft Java and Bedrock, Palworld, Valheim, Hytale, Terraria, Project Zomboid, Rust, ARK, 7 Days to Die, Satisfactory, Vintage Story, Farming Simulator 25, Romestead, Squad, Stationeers, V Rising, Starbound, Unturned and many more. Game swapping is included at no extra cost, subject to the new game’s minimum RAM: the Instance Manager holds saved server states so a group can park a Minecraft world, run something else, and come back. The base plan includes two instance slots sharing a 40 GB storage pool; the optional BisectBoost add-on doubles that and adds temporary RAM boosting and premium subdomains.

Modpack support is a core strength. BisectHosting advertises 2,300+ modpacks with automated installs and updates, custom modpack installs on request, 8,000+ Minecraft plugins, a Minecraft datapack manager, and integrated datapack and plugin installation through the Modrinth API. Steam Workshop and server importing are handled in the same panel for non-Minecraft titles.

Starbase control panel

Game servers are managed in Starbase, BisectHosting’s own panel. Published features include a professional file manager with full FTP access, live performance metrics, in-game chat from the panel, mass actions, auto commands, a user-friendly config editor, a player manager, the Instance Manager described above and an assistant called Biko. Backups are configurable with two backup slots, a 40 GB shared pool and three days of previous daily backups retained on the base plan; the terms of service note that backups are best-effort and advise keeping your own copies.

RAM tiers, player slots and pricing

BisectHosting bills per gigabyte of RAM and does not sell player slots – the BisectOne comparison chart lists “unlimited player slots” as standard, so how many people can actually join is a function of RAM, the game and the modpack rather than a purchased cap. Pricing works out at roughly $2.99 per GB per month in the company’s own catalogue: 1 GB is $3.00/mo, 2 GB $5.99/mo, 4 GB $11.99/mo, 6 GB $17.99/mo, 8 GB $23.99/mo, 12 GB $35.99/mo, 16 GB $47.99/mo and 32 GB $95.99/mo, with a 48 GB tier at $143.99/mo. Longer terms reduce that: quarterly takes 10% off, semi-annual 15% and annual 20%, so a 4 GB server prepaid for a year works out near $9.60/mo. Disk space is unlimited on NVMe drives, a free MySQL database and free subdomains are included, and there are no separate charges for “premium” performance.

Because no slot numbers are published, size the plan by workload: a vanilla or Paper world for a handful of friends sits comfortably in the 2-4 GB range, a plugin-heavy community server wants 6-8 GB, and a large modpack should start at 8 GB and go up from there. That is the same ladder the modpack catalogue implies, since each pack lists its own RAM requirement.

Hardware, DDoS protection and locations

The hardware page states that 80% of the fleet runs modern Ryzen CPUs with clock speeds up to 5.7 GHz, that every BisectOne plan can reach up to 8 vCores without a hard per-plan core cap, and that a provisioning system called ServerSpawn places each new server on hardware matched to the workload – high-clock nodes for single-threaded games like Minecraft Java, Enshrouded and Palworld, higher-core nodes for ARK or Satisfactory. DDoS protection is included free on every plan, with no mitigation capacity published. The location list runs to 21 sites: Dallas, Buffalo, Los Angeles, Vint Hill, Hillsboro, Miami, New Jersey, Atlanta, Seattle and Chicago in the United States, Montreal in Canada, Sao Paulo in Brazil, plus France, London, Poland, Germany, Amsterdam, Singapore, Sydney, Mumbai and Hong Kong.

Support, refunds and who it suits

Support is advertised as 24/7/365 with a 15-minute response target and a help centre of more than 2,000 articles, reachable by live chat and tickets. The uptime claim on the company’s switching page is 99.97%. The refund window is short: the terms of service give a 72-hour (3-day) money-back guarantee, and only to new customers or to customers trying a service type for the first time, with no prorated refunds afterwards. A $1 first-server offer is promoted as a way to test the platform, which is not the same thing as a free trial.

BisectHosting suits modded Minecraft players and multi-game groups who want one bill, unlimited slots and a deep modpack catalogue, and communities that value fast round-the-clock support. It is less suited to buyers who want a long money-back window, a published mitigation figure for DDoS, or guaranteed dedicated CPU cores rather than shared access up to a ceiling.
